Product Introduction

White Cement

Premium Egyptian white Portland cement, CE-marked to EN 197-1:2011, for architectural, decorative and structural construction in Africa and Europe.

White cement is the binder behind bright façades, decorative concrete, tile adhesives and grouts, and colour-true plasters. Our range gives architects, precasters and dry-mix producers a choice of three EN 197-1 classes, so every project gets the right balance of early strength, workability and cost.

CEM I 52.5 RRapid early strength CEM I 52.5 NHigh strength, long workability CEM II/B-LL 42.5 NSustainable and economical

EN 197-1:2011 | EC Certificate of Constancy of Performance (system 1+) | Soluble chromium (VI) ≤ 2 ppm | Bulk and bagged supply

Whiteness you can specify. Strength you can rely on.

Why ATHER White Cement

Exceptional whiteness

Whiteness of 85.5 – 86% (CIE Y) and very low iron content give clean, bright finishes and true pigment colours.

CE-marked to EN 197-1:2011

Independently certified under system 1+ by an EU notified body (TÜV Austria Hellas), valid to August 2027.

Low soluble chromium (VI)

Certified results of 0.5 – 0.6 ppm, against a 2 ppm limit, supporting worker safety and EU compliance.

Three performance classes

Rapid 52.5 R, high-strength 52.5 N and economical, lower-carbon 42.5 N.

Flexible packaging

25, 40 and 50 kg bags, custom jumbo bags, and bulk shipment in vessels and containers.

Consistent, tested quality

Every production batch is checked in the factory laboratory against EN 197-2, 196-1, 196-3 and 196-6 methods.

White Portland Cement | EN 197-1:2011 | Rapid early strength

CEM I 52.5 R

Our highest-performance white cement. CEM I 52.5 R combines brilliant whiteness with very high early and ultimate strength, so precast and architectural elements can be demoulded, finished and delivered faster.

65 MPa 28-day strength (typical)
≥ 39 MPa 2-day strength (typical)
≥ 85.5% Whiteness
≤ 0.6 ppm Soluble chromium (VI)

Key Strengths

Rapid strength gain: 2-day strength typically ≥ 39 N/mm² (EN 197-1 minimum 30), enabling early demoulding and faster production cycles.

High ultimate strength: typical 28-day strength of 65 N/mm², well above the 52.5 N/mm² class requirement.

Superior whiteness: whiteness ≥ 85.5% (CIE Y), with very low iron content (Fe₂O₃ about 0.2%) for clean, bright finishes.

Colour vibrancy: works with pigments to deliver true, durable coloured concrete, plasters and mortars.

Durable in harsh environments: excellent resistance for façades and exposed architectural elements.

Easy to mix and apply: consistent fineness gives efficient, smooth mixing and finishing.

White Portland Cement | EN 197-1:2011 | Normal early strength

CEM I 52.5 N

A high-strength white cement with excellent workability and a longer working time. CEM I 52.5 N is the universal choice for decorative, structural and pigmented applications where a bright, consistent finish matters.

65+ MPa 28-day strength (typical)
≥ 30 MPa 2-day strength (typical)
≥ 85.5% Whiteness
≤ 0.6 ppm Soluble chromium (VI)

Key Strengths

High compressive strength: typical 28-day strength of 65 N/mm² or more, well above the 52.5 N/mm² class requirement.

Excellent workability: longer initial setting time (typically about 185 minutes) gives time to place, finish and detail.

Brilliant whiteness: whiteness ≥ 85.5% (CIE Y) with very low iron content (Fe₂O₃ about 0.2%).

Fine surface textures: enhances colour vibrancy and produces fine, smooth surface texture.

Suited to white and pigmented work: white concrete, coloured plasters and mortars.

Low alkali content: Na₂O equivalent of about 0.3%, helping to limit efflorescence risk.

White Portland-Limestone Cement | EN 197-1:2011 | Normal early strength

CEM II/B-LL 42.5 N

A smart, sustainable white cement. A carefully balanced limestone addition improves workability and lowers the CO₂ footprint while delivering reliable strength and the whiteness architects specify, at a more economical price point.

≥ 42.5 28-day strength class (N/mm²)
≥ 86.0% Whiteness (typical)
21–35% Limestone content
≤ 0.6 ppm Soluble chromium (VI)

Key Strengths

Good workability: smooth mixing and application, especially valued in mortars, plasters and renders.

Reliable strength: strength class 42.5 N, ensuring structural durability for general construction.

Highest whiteness in the range: typically ≥ 86.0% (CIE Y).

Eco-friendly: 65 – 79% clinker content reduces CO₂ emissions and environmental impact versus pure Portland cement.

Cost-effective: energy-efficient production and lower material costs make it an economical white binder.

Strong adhesion and balanced setting: optimised hydration (initial setting about 180 minutes) is ideal for masonry and precast applications.

Applications and Uses

Structural concrete

Reinforced and non-reinforced structures

Masonry mortars and plasters

Smooth application and good adhesion

Precast elements

Blocks, pipes, tiles and other prefabricated components

General construction

Residential, commercial and infrastructure projects
