Urea | Calcium Ammonium Nitrate

Group A: Nitrogen Fertilizers

Nitrogen drives vegetative growth, leaf area and yield, and is the nutrient most often limiting crop production across Africa. Our nitrogen range offers a high-analysis option (Urea) and a calcium-enriched, low-loss option (CAN).

Granular nitrogen fertilizer | 46% N

Urea (46‑0‑0)

Urea is the world's most widely traded nitrogen fertilizer. At 46% nitrogen it is the most concentrated solid N source available, delivering the lowest cost and freight per unit of nitrogen.

Product Use

Recommended crops: Maize, rice, wheat, sorghum and millet; sugarcane; vegetables; banana, oil palm and other plantation crops; pastures.

Key Benefits

Highest nitrogen content of any solid fertilizer (46% N), reducing transport, handling and storage cost per unit of N.

Free-flowing, uniform granules (2–4 mm) suitable for hand, mechanical and blended application.

Low biuret (≤ 1.0%), safe for seedlings, foliage and sensitive crops when applied correctly.

Compatible for blending with DAP, TSP and SOP.

Application guidance: Apply as basal or top-dressing, split across the growing season for cereals and sugarcane. Incorporate into soil or apply before rain or irrigation to limit ammonia loss. Avoid direct contact with seed. Rates should follow soil test and crop requirement.

Granular nitrogen fertilizer with calcium | 27% N, 5% CaO

Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN 27)

CAN 27 supplies nitrogen in two forms, nitrate and ammonium in equal parts, together with calcium. It gives crops immediate and sustained nitrogen without acidifying the soil.

Product Use

Recommended crops: Maize, tea, coffee, cocoa, sugarcane, potatoes, vegetables, fruit trees and horticultural crops; pastures.

Key Benefits

50% nitrate N for immediate uptake and 50% ammoniacal N for steady supply.

Contains calcium and magnesium; neutral reaction suits acidic tropical soils.

Low ammonia volatilisation losses compared with urea, particularly on warm or surface-applied conditions.

Hard, uniform granules (2–5 mm) that flow and spread evenly.

Application guidance: Best used as top-dressing during active crop growth, in one or several splits. Suitable for surface broadcasting and band placement. Rates should follow soil test and crop requirement.

DAP | TSP | SSP

Group B: Phosphate Fertilizers

Phosphorus supports root development, early establishment, flowering and grain filling, and is deficient in many African soils. The phosphate range covers a nitrogen–phosphate starter (DAP), a concentrated nitrogen-free source (TSP) and a calcium and sulphur-bearing economical option (SSP).

Granular nitrogen–phosphate fertilizer | 18% N, 46% P₂O₅

Di-Ammonium Phosphate (G‑DAP 18‑46‑0)

DAP is the leading phosphate fertilizer worldwide, combining high phosphorus with nitrogen in a single granule. It is the standard starter fertilizer for most field crops.

Product Use

Recommended crops: Maize, rice, wheat, sorghum, cotton, soybean, groundnut, cassava, yam, vegetables and tuber crops.

Key Benefits

High analysis: 46% P₂O₅ with 18% N, supporting early root development and crop establishment.

Highly water-soluble phosphorus (41% water-soluble P₂O₅) available to the crop early in the season.

Hard, uniform granules suitable for planting-time placement and for blending.

Ammonium-N supports early vegetative growth.

Application guidance: Apply at planting or as a basal dressing, placed in the seed row or banded beside it. Avoid placing high rates in direct contact with seed. Follow with a nitrogen top-dressing (urea or CAN) where required. Rates should follow soil test and crop requirement.

Triple Super Phosphate (G‑TSP 0‑46‑0)

TSP is a concentrated, nitrogen-free phosphate fertilizer. It is the preferred phosphorus source where additional nitrogen is not wanted, and for blending to custom grades.

Product Use

Recommended crops: Legumes (soybean, groundnut, cowpea, beans), pastures, cocoa, coffee, tea, fruit trees, cereals and vegetables; also a base for NPK blends.

Key Benefits

46% P₂O₅ with 41% water-soluble, giving the highest phosphorus concentration among straight phosphates.

Nitrogen-free, ideal for legumes that fix their own nitrogen.

Contains calcium, supporting soil structure on acidic soils.

Granular and uniform for blending with urea, CAN and SOP.

Application guidance: Apply as a basal dressing at planting or before sowing, broadcast and incorporated or banded near the seed. Suitable for establishment and maintenance dressings on pastures and perennial crops. Rates should follow soil test and crop requirement.

Granular phosphate fertilizer with calcium and sulphur | 20% P₂O₅

Granular Single Super Phosphate (G‑SSP 0‑20‑0)

SSP is the original phosphate fertilizer and remains a cost-effective choice where sulphur and calcium are also needed. It supplies three nutrients in one granule.

Product Use

Recommended crops: Groundnut, soybean and other oilseeds and legumes; maize and other cereals; pastures; sugarcane, tea and vegetables, especially on sulphur-deficient soils.

Key Benefits

20% P₂O₅ (16% water-soluble) with about 21% calcium and 12% sulphur.

Corrects sulphur deficiency, which is common in many African soils and limits oilseed and protein quality.

Economical source of phosphorus for large-area and low-input farming.

Granular form for easy spreading and blending.

Application guidance: Apply as a basal dressing before or at planting, incorporated into the soil. Particularly suitable for legumes, oilseeds and pastures. Rates should follow soil test and crop requirement.

Sulphate of Potash

Group C: Potash and Sulphate Fertilizers

Potassium regulates water use, crop quality and resistance to stress. Sulphate of Potash provides chloride-free potassium together with sulphur, serving high-value and chloride-sensitive crops.

Potassium and sulphur fertilizer | 50% K₂O, 18% S

Sulphate of Potash (SOP 0‑0‑50)

SOP is a premium, chloride-free source of potassium and sulphur. It is the preferred potash for crops sensitive to chloride and for high-value horticulture.

Product Use

Recommended crops: Tobacco, fruit trees, citrus, grapes, potatoes, vegetables, tea, coffee, cocoa, oil palm, and other chloride-sensitive or high-value crops.

Key Benefits

50% K₂O with 18% sulphur; improves fruit size, sugar content, colour, quality and shelf life.

Very low chloride (0.37%), avoiding salt stress and quality loss in chloride-sensitive crops.

Low salt index and fully water-soluble (120 g/L), suitable for fertigation and foliar programmes.

Supplies sulphur, supporting protein and oil formation.

Application guidance: Apply as basal dressing, top-dressing or through fertigation. Split applications during fruiting or tuber bulking are effective. Suitable for blending with nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers. Rates should follow soil and leaf analysis.
