Why ATHER Fencing
Border barriers have multiplied since the early 2000s, and most are fences. Authorities and contractors need a supplier that can deliver heavy, engineered steel in volume, to drawing, with a coating system that survives desert, coastal and cold conditions. ATHER supplies complete fence systems and components from Egypt, covering the standard fence types and any custom design a project requires.
Anti-climb mesh, a top panel and concertina wire work together to slow, deter and expose an attempted crossing.
Shop-drawing driven manufacture for tender specifications, with heavier structural options available.
Hot-dip galvanising with a polyester powder-coat topcoat, designed for harsh desert and coastal exposure.
Posts, panels and concertina supplied as complete sets with fixings, for faster erection and fewer site shortages.
Set weights and trailer loads planned per project; one trailer carries about 25 sets, around 67 m of fence.
Mesh, chain-link, palisade, razor wire, gates and accessories sourced and supplied to your specification.

Fence types other than the welded-mesh delay fence are quoted per project; dimensions, wire gauges and coatings are confirmed against the specification you provide.
Welded-Mesh Delay Fence

Delay Fence: Design and Specification

Typical elevations are 2,700 mm and 2,120 mm panel heights, with a typical overall height of about 4.6 m above the foundation. Foundations are designed and built by others, typically a reinforced concrete beam with cut-outs for the posts. Finish: hot-dip galvanised and coated to 250 microns, green.
The enhanced specification is offered on request and priced per project. Final materials, standards and coating system are confirmed in the technical submittal.
High-Security Mesh and Other Fence Types
358 mesh is a welded mesh with a 76.2 mm × 12.7 mm aperture and 4 mm wire, welded at every intersection. The narrow openings leave no foothold for climbing and are difficult to cut with conventional tools, while the open mesh keeps the perimeter visible for CCTV and patrols. It is widely used at prisons, airports, power and utility sites and other critical infrastructure.
Concertina barbed tape and razor wire are fitted on outrigger arms, along fence tops, or laid as standalone obstacles. They add delay and deterrence to any fence type. Coil diameter, blade type and galvanising are specified per project.
Welded mesh panels are covered by EN 10223-7 (steel wire welded panels for fencing). Chain-link and palisade systems suit larger or lower-risk boundaries. Heights, wire gauges, post sections and coatings are matched to the specification, with gates, step posts and accessories supplied as a matching set.
The comparison is indicative. Security performance depends on fence height, mesh, top protection, foundations and the project’s threat assessment. Where a project requires tested security ratings, the LPS 1175 scheme (SR1 to SR5 for fencing, set by the Loss Prevention Certification Board) is the usual reference, and certification is arranged per system.
Packing, Shipping and Supply
Delivery follows approved shop drawings and advance payment, with the programme agreed per project. Typical delivery terms are CFR to the destination port, or by road trailer from Cairo to neighbouring markets.
Quality, Compliance and Market Access
HS codes are indicative and must be verified with the destination customs authority or a licensed broker.
